Analysis of the principle of washing machine clutch brake

The washing machine clutch plays an important role in the washing machine dehydration process. In the dehydration operation, the brake mainly includes two cases, one is the brake at the end of dehydration; the other is the brake in which the upper cover is opened during the dehydration operation.

 

When the dehydration of the washing machine is about to end, the electric motor and the washing machine clutch electromagnet are de-energized, the moving iron core is restored, the moving iron core blocks the rotating braking band, and the sliding resistance is generated between the braking band and the spring sleeve. The rotation of the spring sleeve is slower than the inner hub, the torsion spring is tightened, and the power is transmitted to the brake disc via the inner hub, so that the dewatering bucket stops rotating.

 

Considering that the washing machine is provided with a safety switch, if the upper cover is opened during the dehydration process, then the safety switch is actuated, the power supply of the clutch electromagnet and the motor of the washing machine is cut off, and after the electromagnet is de-energized, the moving iron core is restored. The sliding resistance is generated between the brake band and the spring sleeve, so that the torsion spring is tightened, the inner hub of the power path is transmitted to the brake disc, and the brake starts to work, so that the dewatering bucket of the washing machine is stopped.
